Uniform Requirements and Options by Age Group

At AYSO Region 158, we ensure that all players are equipped with the necessary uniforms to foster team spirit and unity. Below are the uniform requirements and options tailored for different age groups, ensuring every player is ready to hit the field with confidence.

U8 to U19 Players

Mandatory: Home Jersey (White) and Away Jersey (Black). Optional: Shorts and socks to complete the look.

Kickstart & U6 Players

Mandatory: Away Jersey (Black). Optional: Shorts and socks for added comfort.

Required soccer gear varies by age group to ensure safety and proper play. Each division has specific ball sizes, mandatory shin guards worn under socks, and footwear guidelines tailored to player needs.

6U Kickstart: Size 3 soccer ball, shin guards mandatory under socks, soccer cleats or sneakers allowed.

8U Core: Size 3 soccer ball, shin guards mandatory under socks, soccer cleats or sneakers required.

10U & 12U Core: Size 4 soccer ball, shin guards mandatory under socks, soccer cleats only.

15U & 19U Size 5 soccer ball, shin guards mandatory under socks, soccer cleats only.

Footwear must comply with safety rules; no toe cleats permitted. Shin guards are compulsory for all players during games and practices.

Essential Safety Rules for All Players

Shin guards must be worn beneath socks and fully covered at all times during games and practices to protect against injury. This rule applies to every player regardless of age or division.

Footwear with center front toe cleats, such as baseball or football cleats, is strictly prohibited to prevent accidents. Additionally, all jewelry including earrings, bracelets, and necklaces must be removed before play; taping over piercings is not allowed under official safety regulations.
